ICCA Central European Chapter Summer Meeting, the big highlight of the ICCA annual event calendar, will see the prominent meetings industry personalities in Moscow on August 18-20. This important first involves great matchmaking opportunities, bringing together dozens of professionals from Russia and all over Eastern and Western Europe to discuss the crucial meetings industry issues.
Anna Gorska, Head of ICCA CEC, is enthusiastic about Russia as an emerging world-class meeting destination: ‘Russia is the world’s largest country with many different possibilities, where everyone could find an opportunity for doing business, but still “unknown” as a meeting destination. Its rich culture with world known artists and writers, beautiful historic cities, professional and friendly people are the most positive attributes that I see from outside. It can all be used as the added values for the meeting planners.’
The initiative of holding the ICCA CEC Summer Meeting in Moscow and backing the Russian capital’s bid was a joint effort of a state-business partnership involving Moscow meetings market’s key players: the Moscow Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Restec Events, the World Trade Center Moscow, the International Agency of Congress Management (MAKO) and the VDNH, one of the largest exhibitions, museums, and recreation complexes in the world.
The ICCA Central European Chapter is the largest division of the ICCA family both in terms of size and geographical diversity, acting as a crucial communication platform between meetings industry professionals across Europe. ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) is the ultimate union spanning over 1000 organizations from 90 countries in the field of international business meeting management.
